Delete your account
You can delete your GOTCHA account and everything stored with it at any time. You do not need to contact us first, and you do not need a reason.
01Delete it yourself, in the app
This is immediate and needs no waiting period:
Open GOTCHA → Settings → Delete Account → type DELETE to confirm.
Your account is erased as soon as you confirm.
02If you can no longer sign in
Lost the phone, or uninstalled the app? Email info@thinkteam.biz from the address you registered with, with the subject “Delete my GOTCHA account”. We verify the request comes from the registered address and complete the deletion within 30 days — usually within a few business days.
We ask you to write from the registered address because your account holds evidence photos. Acting on an unverified request would let someone else destroy them.
03What gets deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes:
- your profile — email address, display name, account settings;
- every photo you captured, including the encrypted copies held in cloud backup;
- the capture-time evidence anchors (content hash and server timestamp) for those photos;
- your Guardian Circle membership. If you are the only member, the circle is deleted; if you created it and others remain, it passes to another member so they keep access;
- ownership claims on any paired GOTCHA-CAM, freeing the hardware to be paired again;
- the purchase records linking your account to a store receipt.
None of it is recoverable afterwards. There is no grace period and no archived copy — export anything you still need before you delete.
04What is not deleted, and why
Your subscription is not cancelled. GOTCHA Pro is billed by Google Play or the App Store, and neither lets an app cancel a subscription on your behalf. Cancel it yourself in the store, or you will keep being charged for an account that no longer exists:
- Android — Google Play → Menu → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions
- iPhone — Settings → your name → Subscriptions
We may also keep records we are legally required to retain, such as transaction records kept for tax and accounting purposes. These contain billing information, never your photos.
05Photos shared into a Guardian Circle
Photos you shared with a Guardian Circle were delivered to the other members at the time you shared them. Deleting your account removes your copies, but it cannot reach back and remove a photo another member has already received or saved.
