Where and when are written into the record at the shutter, not typed in afterwards. The photo is fingerprinted with SHA-256 and the app checks it against what our server recorded at capture — change one pixel later and the seal breaks visibly.
You plus four. They join with an invite code and pay nothing. The moment you capture, their phones show who, where and when — and a tap opens the shared album. Nobody outside your circle can.
Photos are encrypted on your phone before upload. Private photos use a key that never reaches us; photos shared with your circle use your circle's key. Capture works with no signal; sealed photos upload themselves once you are back online. Nothing goes to your phone's gallery.

A small camera you leave behind, for the rooms you are not in. No wi-fi, no cloud account, no login — it talks only to your phone over Bluetooth, and refuses every command until the phone proves it holds the key printed on the camera's own QR sticker. It is still being built; one email when it is ready, and nothing else.
Yes — GOTCHA is live on the App Store and Google Play. The first seven days are free; after that it is RM 5 a month for five people. GOTCHA-CAM, the separate camera, is still in development.
No. GOTCHA captures photos only. There is no video recording and no audio recording, on the phone or on the camera.
Not your private photos. They are encrypted on your phone before anything leaves it, with a key that never reaches us. The honest cost: lose the phone without saving your recovery code and nobody can open those backups, including us.
Photos you share with your Guardian Circle are encrypted too, with your circle's own key. Our server holds that key and hands it only to current members; when someone leaves, photos taken afterwards use a new key they never receive.
Yes. Capturing, fingerprinting and sealing all happen on the phone with no connection. Captures upload themselves once you are back online — nothing is lost offline.
The photo is still captured and still sealed. It is recorded as having no coordinates rather than being given false ones. Only camera access is actually required.
You export it. The export carries the untouched original and the fingerprint taken at capture, so they can check for themselves that it has not been altered. Nothing leaves your phone unless you send it — there is no portal and no back door.
